What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seniors Transportation Driver position at Memphis Jewish Community Center?
Position Status:
· Full-time; Hourly; Non-Exempt
Typical Work Schedule:
· Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm, with occasional evening or weekend hours.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Transport senior and disabled clients to and from appointments, meetings, errands, and other transportation needs as scheduled by the Administrative Assistant or self.
· Assist clients into and out of the vehicle, escorting them from their front doors to the vehicle and from the vehicle back to their front doors.
· Maintain appropriate vehicle mileage and maintenance records.
· Fill out all necessary pre and post transportation vehicle inspections and paperwork.
· Ensure that vehicle has appropriate gas, oil and fuel levels and take care of routine vehicle upkeep.
· Transport vehicle to be washed and cleaned as appropriate and necessary.
· Provide outstanding customer service to all clients and ensure their safety at all times.
· Based on direction given by Director of Social Services and/or Senior Services Manager, provide feedback on welfare and well-being of clients on a routine basis.
· Create and actively promote a comfortable and welcoming environment where every client is treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized manner.
· Attend departmental staff meetings when directed and as necessary.
· Other reasonable duties as assigned by Director of Social Services or Senior Services Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Prior experience providing transportation preferred.
- Outstanding driving record.
- Ability to pass criminal background check and initial mandatory drug screen in accordance with the JCC drug free workplace policy.
- Demonstrated ability to show accuracy and great attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
