Mascot Associate, Memphis Hustle (Part-Time)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and adaptable individual for the part-time position of Mascot Associate, Memphis Hustle.  The Mascot Associate will be responsible for serving as the Hustle mascot and primary brand ambassador for the Memphis Hustle and will play a crucial role in fostering connections with fans, events, and organizations across the Mid-South. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing at all 24 regular season home games plus community appearances throughout the year. An ideal candidate possesses a bright personality, excellent non-verbal communication skills, physical talent, an ability to interact, engage, and entertain clients and fans of all ages.

The Mascot Associate will work closely with the Live Entertainment Department to execute in-game skits, contests, social media content, and other requested appearances. Additional responsibilities include costume maintenance and inventory.

In This Role You Will

• Perform and interact with fans at all Hustle home games (pre-season, regular season and post-season), as well as civic, community and partner organization events.
• Collaborate with team management to develop and execute new entertainment concepts, as well as build upon current standards, for use at performances, including on-court skits/dances/stunts, in-stands interaction and improvisation, and off-site event entertainment.
• Assist in game night setup and breakdown of all Hustle mascot assets.
• Assist with fan interactions and crowd control to optimize guests’ experience and safety.
• Maintain the costume in good condition and immediately inform management of any repairs needed.
• Follow all safety regulations and League rules at all times.
• Assist the Live Entertainment department as requested.
• Represent the Memphis Hustle in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
• Understand and thrive in a team dynamic and communicate effectively with management and teammates.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

• High School graduate or GED.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Able to work all Memphis Hustle home games, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical stamina and flexibility to perform in a mascot suit with limited visibility, for extended periods of time.
• Excellent non-verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift over 30 pounds for deliveries, costumes, props etc.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Creative and imaginative thinker.
• A team player and detail oriented.
