Your schedule? It's flexible and fits around client needs and staffing requirements, meaning you will never be bored and no two days are the same. Expect a minimum of 30 hours per week, with opportunities to work both weekdays and weekends. What You Will Need To Bring to the Table:
- At least 1 year of solid industry-specific experience in the caregiving industry
- Valid Home Care Aide (HCA) registrationwith the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) - including completing a Live Scan criminal background check and a TB Screening
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Flexibility is key, so you will need to be available to work both weekdays and weekends based on client needs
- A positive, respectful work attitude - we are all about building a supportive environment here
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with current automobile insurance coverage
- Completion of 5 hours of initial training required by California law for all new Home Care Aides (training must be completed within the first 90 days of employment)
- Communication skills - We love team players who can connect with clients, families, and fellow caregivers
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in high-stress situations
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions and complete tasks as assigned
- Must maintain confidentiality of client and agency information
- Must maintain a professional appearance and proper hygiene at all times - no exceptions
- Must have a positive, respectful work attitude and maintain professional boundaries
Your Responsibilities in a Nutshell:
- Deliver high-quality care services as outlined in our clients' care plans - from personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing) to meal prep and housekeeping
- Act as a mandated reporter of suspected abuse or neglect of dependent adults in accordance with California law
- Report any changes in a client's conditions or needs to management in a timely manner
- Be a trusted companion - offering emotional and social support to clients so they can live independently and safely in the comfort of their own homes
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA and other confidentiality laws
- Help with mobility, fall prevention, and exercise routines
- Provide medication reminders (without administering meds, of course!)
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and respectful demeanor with clients, families, and colleagues
Home Care Aide Duties:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in their care plan, including but not limited to:
- Personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Locomotion, ambulation, and fall prevention
- Meal preparation, feeding assistance, and nutritional support
- Bed mobility, positioning, and range of motion exercises
- Toileting, continence care, and dressing assistance
- Medication reminders (Note: This is not to include the administration of medication)
- Light housekeeping: cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, linen changes, and organizing
- Laundry, including washing and folding client's clothing and bedding
- Social and emotional support
- Support for client independence and safety through monitoring and companionship

Additional Expectations For This Position:
