Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to oversee our cemetery in Schiller Park. The ideal candidate will possess management skills and a knowledge of operating equipment and manitaining eqipment, as well as assigning tasks and projects to an experienced staff.
Duties
- Grounds Superintendent oversees the maintenance, operations, and management of outdoor landscapes and facilities for the cemetery, and oversee interment staff for cemetery burials.
- Supervise daily operations on the cemetry grounds. ensuring adherence to safety regulations and good practices.
- Manage inventory of the company equipment and maintain all tools and equipment in good working order.
- Perform functions related to lawn care, burial processes, tree and schrub maintanance, and property maintenance,.
- As assigned, identify and if possible address building maintenance needs.
- Manage staff of 2 persons, and seasonal help to ensure work productivity and provide training as needed.
- Work closely with office staff for delivery of interment services, and installation of markers and headstones.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with rider lawn mowers and other equipment needed to maintain the cemetery grounds. Knowledge of heavy equipment operating and maintenance, a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Proficiency in repairing small engine tools a plus
- Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical a plus.
