ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Positive and supportive team member to staff members and the hospital.
- Keeping all machines clean and sanitized after each use.
- Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Interacts with other departments in solving problems and working as a team.
- Acts as an internal consultant and educator to hospital staff in areas of expertise as needed.
- Demonstrates a professional and caring attitude.
- Feedback sessions with the manager.
- Strives to ensure continual compliance with Departmental and MRH policies and procedures and State/Federal Regulations.
- Participates in in-service.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of floors at MRH, Specialty Clinic, and Rapid Care, including but not limited to mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing floor tiles, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets.
- Utilizes a computer to do annual safety training courses and to read e-mail.
- After training, the employee must be able to operate and clean all floor machines.
- Assists EVS staff with lifting, cleaning, etc.
- Identifies and accesses the system to report abuse of employees and/or patients.
- Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management.
- Knowledge of patients’ rights.
- Responsible for disposal of trash, biohazard waste, and other disposable materials.
- Must handle various cleaning solvents and supplies.
- Reports any needed repairs immediately to the manager.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
- Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
