Part-time extended day teacher, Monday - Friday, 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm.
Benefits: Paid holidays and paid personal time after 90 days.
This is a part-time position. The position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of an ongoing classroom program that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development of each child within a safe and Christian environment. This person should project a positive, upbeat, and patient attitude, demonstrate highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, be a team player, and have a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education. The Assistant Teacher should work cooperatively and positively with the Lead Teacher.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in implementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on preschool standards in the intellectual/academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual domains using school selected curriculum to support teaching and learning
- Assist in providing a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
- Develop positive relationships with each child and family
- Assist in the setting up of centers and spaces with resources and supplies that follow lesson plans and support child development
- Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for positive classroom management
- Incorporate Christian values and content into curriculum
- Assist in performing ongoing developmental evaluations of students and progress reports as needed
- Assist in providing instruction via individual, small group, and large group settings
- Organize and label materials to support a print rich environment
- Assist in providing a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
- Develop positive relationships with each child and family
