Department/Unit Summary
Join our team in a 12-bed OR unit, located on the 1st floor, where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of RNs, CSTs and FAs. You will play a crucial role in assisting our patients in general surgery, bariatrics surgery, orthopedic and urological procedures. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
How you'll contribute:
A Central Sterile Tech who excels in this role:
- Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
- Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
- Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
- Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
- Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
Shift: 11a-7p or 12p-8p mid shift. On call required rotation.
What we're looking for:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- License: Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
