Patient Experience Representative - Curbside

The Patient Experience Representative – Curbside serves as the welcoming face of MHSC, creating a warm, supportive, and patient-centered arrival experience.  This temporary position was established to support Memorial Hospital’s Curb-to-Care program during construction in the Medical Office Building. Representatives assist patients from their vehicle into the hospital safely and comfortably, responding promptly to calls from designated curbside parking spots and often providing wheelchair support.  They greet patients, families, and visitors with professionalism and kindness, offer clear guidance, answers inquiries, and uphold strict confidentiality standards to protect patient privacy. The representative ensures compassionate, patient-centered service while maintaining efficiency and safety during the arrival process.

This role involves a combination of indoor and outdoor responsibilities, including assisting patients in varying weather conditions.  Candidates should be prepared for regular exposure to Wyoming’s seasonal weather conditions, such as cold temperatures, snow, wind, and other inclement weather, while maintaining safety and delivering exceptional service.

Education:

The Patient Experience Representative independently carries out responsibilities with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and reliability in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role requires exceptional communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding customer service, ensuring patients, families, and visitors feel supported and valued. Additionally, the ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations is essential, contributing to a positive and efficient care experience for all.



 

1. Respond promptly to calls from designated curbside parking spots and assist patients from their vehicles into the hospital safely and comfortably, often providing wheelchair support.
2. Warmly welcomes all patients and visitors upon arrival at the MHSC main lobby, ensuring a supportive and professional environment that fosters both efficiency and compassionate care.
3. Engages respectfully and effectively with patients, families, visitors, and staff, creating a positive and reassuring atmosphere.
4. Provides thoughtful assistance to patients and visitors, including securing wheelchairs or coordinating additional support services as needed.
5. Maintains and protects an up-to-date daily house list to facilitate accurate guidance and seamless navigation for patients and guests.
6. Ensures the availability of informative literature, helping patients and visitors stay informed and comfortable throughout their hospital experience.
7. Regularly stocks hospitality areas with refreshments, ensuring a welcoming environment that prioritizes comfort and well-being.
8. Oversees the presentation and basic cleanliness of the MHSC front lobby, contributing to a professional and inviting space for all visitors.
9. Coordinates with Security or Facilities when assistance is required, ensuring a safe and efficient response to any concerns.
10. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of hospital departments and services, offering reliable guidance to those in need.
11. Understands patient workflows and proactively supports smooth navigation throughout their hospital experience.
12. Stays informed about internal and external events, ensuring timely communication and relevant support for hospital operations and visitors.
13. Upholds hospital visitor policies with professionalism, assisting with visitor management equipment and related protocols, including health and safety measures such as masking.
