Role Description
The Accountant supports the financial operations of the organization by preparing and maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of accounting information while supporting compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- One to three years of accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software, spreadsheets, and general ledger systems preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Qualifications
- Assists with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Maintains financial records and supporting documentation in an organized and accurate manner.
- Assists with preparation of financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
- Reviews and analyzes account activity to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
- Supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, or other accounting functions as assigned.
- Assists with audit preparation by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
- Ensures compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
- Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
- Communicates effectively with internal departments and external parties regarding financial matters.
- Maintains confidentiality of financial and organizational information at all times.
