Wage Range: $18.00/hour – $23.00/hour

Position Summary:
Direct resident care in a manner to safely meet resident needs in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements. Work as a team member with all staff to create a calm and conducive atmosphere to assure residents receive the care they want. This person must be trustworthy, be able to work independently and at times without direct supervision. This person must be able to make decisions regarding emergency needs of the resident and to be depended upon to contact supervisor for advice and direction. Personal care includes, but is not limited to assistance with meals, dressing, movement, and bathing.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Pass background checks before and during employment
- Care giving experience
- Food Sanitation Certificate (or obtain within three months of hire)
- CPR certification (or obtain within one month of hire)
- Active (or eligible to renew) CNA license (or pass the class with intention of completing the state competency test within four months)
Required Pertinent Skills:
- A strong desire to serve the elderly and provide excellent customer service.
- Able to follow written and oral directions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Frequently: Works in well lighted/ventilated work areas.
- Frequently: Moderate physical effort (lift/carry 25 pounds).
- Occasionally: Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, lifting, moving, climbing.
- Regularly: Pushing carts and wheelchairs to transport residents.
- Regularly: Contact with residents’ families, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and
circumstances.
- Occasionally: At times subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents and/or family members.
- Regularly: Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Occasionally: Irregular working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- Rarely: Subject to falls, burns from equipment.
- Rarely: Subject to infectious diseases.
