Transports patients to and from various areas providing safe and effective patient care as necessary.
- Transports patients to and from various areas.
- Shares equal workload with peers.
- Assists others in transporting patients, as needed.
- Performs patient care services as scheduled.
- Validates travel status and patient needs prior to getting patients.
- Transports patients to designated area within the required time frame.
- Practices Universal Precautions and aseptic techniques.
- Provides a clean patient care environment at all times.
- Introduces self to patient upon arrival in room/patient area.
- Strictly adheres to transportation policy to ensure proper techniques in Providing safe transportation for patients.
- Communicates patient/family health care needs to appropriate health care provider.
- Reports patient care needs to appropriate health care provider.
- Informs supervisor/designee of delays transporting patients from units.
- Keeps required transport information updated.
- Communicates variances and/or significant events to appropriate caregiver in a timely manner.
- Communicates with other disciplines to assure efficient quality care.
- Maintains supplies and equipment of the assigned area.
- Monitors and keeps film and chemistry stocked in dark rooms.
- Notifies supervisor of any other patient care supplies when below proper stock levels.
Education:
- High School or GED
- Vocational/Technical Diploma
- Medical terminology or equivalent. Registered Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Surgical Technician, or Certified Nursing Assistant.
Experience:
- 0
- 1
- Entry-level or above
- CNA, EMT, or similar medical experience
