Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Medical Coder at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. The Medical Coder will be responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records for billing, insurance claims, and medical databases. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and adherence to coding guidelines to ensure accurate healthcare data.
Qualifications
- Coding Experience, RHIT, and Health Information Management skills
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Coding practices
- Experience in healthcare settings or medical coding environments
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer software and electronic health record systems
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is a plus
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
