What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 SUMMER SCHOOL-Professional Tutor-Youth Connection High School Program position at Memorial High School?
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Social Worker and Youth Connection Tutor is to support high school students experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness who are enrolled in a credit recovery, acceleration and/or a self-pacing course by providing needed resources, scheduling direct tutoring, transportation, and social, emotional assistance to complete the course and earn the credit(s) needed for graduation or promotion.
Grade Levels: Current 9th to 11th Grades
Program Dates/Instructional Times:
June 8 - June 26, 2026 (15 days)
8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree, required - $20.00/hour
or
Bachelor's Degree, required & valid Texas Teaching Certificate - $25.00/hour
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidential information/records
Experience: Experience in tutoring and/or one to one small group instruction, preferred
Salary : $20 - $25
