Position: Dual Language Kindergarten Classroom Teaching Assistant
Location: Memorial Elementary School
Schedule: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: Per Contract
To Start: August 24, 2026
Qualifications:
●Bilingual; fluent in Spanish, required
●Proof of Spanish proficiency via Spanish MTEL, WPT/OPI, or other pathway as approved in DESE Guidance for the Provision of Interpreters in the Education Setting (p. 7 and 8), required within the first year of employment
●Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire
●Bachelor’s degree, preferred;
●Experience working with students at the early childhood level
●Experience working with English learners (ELs)
●Experience working with students with disabilities
●Whole classroom setting experience, preferred
Responsibilities:
All classroom duties to be performed in Spanish:
●Strong organizational skills;
●Work collaboratively with the assigned Kindergarten teacher and other professionals in the classroom;
●Participate in professional learning opportunities as directed by building and district administration and the classroom teacher;
●Willingness to assist with bathrooming skills of Kindergarten students;
●Lead small groups and follow plans provided by the classroom teacher;
●Perform all duties and responsibilities related to a Kindergarten Classroom;
●Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a supportive classroom that, as much as possible, aligns with current research in Dual Language Education and meets students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
