Memorial Community Hospital and Health System (MCH) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cook to join our Dietary Services team. Under the direction of the Dietary Manager, the Cook prepares meals for regular and modified patient diets, staff meals, meals-to-go, and occasional catered events. This position supports a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment and plays an active role in the hospital’s overall mission.

What you’ll do:
- Shift Details: This position offers a consistent daytime schedule (10:00a-6:30p), working five days per week. Weekend shifts are part of a shared rotation.
- Prepare meals according to standardized recipes and dietary requirements
- Support food service for patients, staff, and catered functions
- Maintain clean and sanitized work areas and equipment
- Follow department safety protocols and food safety regulations
- Assist in maintaining standards for state inspections
- Uphold attendance standards and department expectations
- Contribute to performance improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Participate in required safety and training programs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 3 months of food service experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and measure ingredients accurately
- Ability to lift and transfer hot food items up to 50 lbs
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read and comprehend menus, diet orders, and written instructions
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
- Capable of calculating adjustments for special diets and food quantities
