Position SummaryMemorial Art Company is seeking a dependable, motivated Part-Time Monument Installer / Laborer to join our installation team based in Salina, Kansas.
This position involves assisting with the installation of granite monuments and memorials throughout Kansas while also supporting daily operations in our granite yard and production shop. The work is physically active and varied, offering a combination of outdoor installation work, equipment operation, material handling, and shop assistance.
No monument installation experience is required. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training for individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Primary ResponsibilitiesMonument Installation- Assist with the delivery, unloading, and installation of granite monuments, markers, benches, vases, and memorial products
- Prepare installation sites by digging, leveling, measuring, and setting foundations
- Help position, level, and secure monuments according to installation specifications
- Load installation trucks with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials
- Maintain installation equipment and vehicles
- Receive, unload, inspect, and organize incoming granite shipments
- Label and inventory granite materials
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment (training provided)
- Assist with shop projects, monument preparation, engraving support, and general maintenance
- Keep the shop, yard, trucks, and equipment clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Work respectfully in cemeteries and around grieving families
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, cemetery personnel, and occasional customers
- Assist with additional projects and daily operations as needed

Required- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials with appropriate equipment and assistance
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow measurements, layouts, and installation procedures accurately
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Professional, respectful attitude while working in cemeteries and around families
Experience in any of the following is beneficial but not required:
- Construction
- Landscaping
- Masonry
- Equipment operation
- General labor
- Manufacturing or fabrication
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Schedule- Part-time position averaging 15–25 hours per week
- Hours vary based on weather and workload
- Opportunity for full-time hours during busy seasons or after training
- Monday–Friday
- Typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No evenings or weekends
- Flexible scheduling whenever possible, making this position a great fit for college students or individuals with another part-time job
- Starting wage of $17.00 per hour
- Performance-based wage review after 90 days
- Initial 30-day training and probationary period
- Paid on-the-job training
