Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Construction Supervisor to lead residential construction and housing improvement projects throughout the region.
This role is responsible for overseeing new home construction, rehabilitation, and repair initiatives that support safe, affordable housing for local families. The Construction Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership to staff, volunteers, subcontractors, and partner families while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with all building codes.
This position offers strong growth potential, with advancement opportunities into Construction Manager or Director-level roles as programs expand.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Project Management
- Oversee residential projects from site preparation through final completion
- Manage new construction, home rehabilitation, and repair programs
- Ensure compliance with construction standards and local building codes
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Procure materials and manage delivery and inventory
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and progress
Volunteer & Worksite Leadership
- Supervise volunteers, partner families, and construction crews
- Provide hands-on training and guidance on jobsite tasks
- Assign duties based on skill level and experience
- Promote a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
- Ensure proper tools, materials, and supervision are available
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Conduct safety orientations for staff and volunteers
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times
Program Oversight
- Support implementation of rehabilitation and repair programs
- Evaluate homes to determine repair scope and needs
- Assist in prioritizing projects based on urgency and impact
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation (schedules, logs, receipts)
- Provide progress updates and reports to leadership
- Utilize systems such as email, Microsoft Office, and Zoom
- Participate in meetings and assist with compliance documentation
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of residential construction experience
- Experience supervising crews, volunteers, or subcontractors
- Knowledge of construction methods and building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and virtual meeting tools
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with nonprofit or volunteer-based construction programs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment
