Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Scientist role based in Fort Collins, CO. The Scientist will write grants plus design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments related to cellular preservation, reproductive biology, and product performance, with a focus on developing new plant-derived technologies. Statistical skills a must please. The role involves interpreting data, preparing technical reports and presentations, and contributing to research publications, regulatory documentation, and intellectual property filings. The Scientist will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to develop new product, support quality control activities for industry partners, and assist in scaling laboratory findings into practical solutions for commercial use. Additional tasks may include maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting compliance with safety and quality standards, and mentoring junior staff or interns as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in reproductive biology, cell biology, or a closely related field, with experience in experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques relevant to cell and gamete preservation (e.g., cell viability assays, microscopy, cryopreservation procedures, or sperm assessment methods).
- Proficiency in documenting research activities, preparing technical reports, and presenting findings to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Ability to follow and develop standard operating procedures, maintain laboratory equipment, and support quality control and validation activities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple experiments and timelines in a dynamic R&D environment.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. (preferred) in Animal Science, Biology, Reproductive Physiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline; relevant industry or postdoctoral experience is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with agricultural or animal reproductive industries, and interest in plant-derived or natural product technologies, is a plus.
