Job Title: Childcare Supervisor
Reports To: Director / Assistant Director
Location: Childcare Center / Early Learning Program

Position Summary
The Childcare Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily classroom operations, supporting teaching staff, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and compliant learning environment for children. This role serves as a leadership presence on the floor, providing guidance, supervision, and support to staff while maintaining compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision & Support
- Provide daily supervision, coaching, and guidance to teaching staff
- Support teachers with classroom management, lesson implementation, and behavior guidance
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to the Director
- Assist with staff coverage, ratios, and classroom transitions
- Model professionalism, appropriate tone, and positive interactions at all times
Classroom Oversight
- Ensure classrooms are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and well-managed
- Support implementation of lesson plans, routines, and center curriculum
- Monitor child interactions to ensure safety and positive guidance strategies
- Assist with managing challenging behaviors using approved discipline methods
Licensing & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to state childcare licensing regulations at all times
- Monitor ratios, supervision, attendance, and daily documentation
- Support completion and organization of required records (incident reports, daily logs, etc.)
- Assist during inspections, audits, and licensing visits as needed
Health & Safety
- Ensure health and safety policies are consistently followed
- Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, or emergencies
- Ensure classrooms are clean, safe, and hazard-free
- Support implementation of allergy, medication, and emergency procedures
Family & Communication Support
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with families
- Support staff with parent interactions when concerns arise
- Assist with conflict resolution between staff and families when necessary
Administrative Support
- Assist Director with daily operations and center needs
- Support onboarding and mentoring of new staff
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Complete assigned documentation and reports accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–5 years experience in a licensed childcare or early learning environment
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead teacher experience preferred
- Knowledge of child development and classroom management strategies
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-stress situations
Education & Certifications
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)

Pay: $15.00 - $27.00 per hour
