Overview
Shop Assistant and Help to maintain and care for vintage cars along with other maintenance functions within a clean and well equipped shop. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining vehicle cleanliness, performing detailed exterior and interior cleaning, and supporting vehicle maintenance tasks. Enthusiasm and attention to detail would be welcome.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle exterior washing, including hand washing and use of cleaning equipment to achieve a spotless finish
- Conduct vehicle paint correction and buffing using automotive buffers to restore paintwork quality
- Detail vehicle interiors by vacuuming, cleaning surfaces, and applying protective treatments to enhance appearance and longevity
- Operate standard passenger cars safely, adhering to safe work practices at all times
- Support some lifting tasks and the use of various cleaning and detailing equipment to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness throughout the process, ensuring a high standard of presentation for the vehicles
- Follow auto detailing facility procedures, including proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment to promote safety and efficiency
Experience
- Prior experience in auto with internal combustion engines (car engines) is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with vehicle operation, including manual transmission driving skills, is advantageous
- Knowledge of safe work practices related to automotive cleaning and custodial tasks is beneficial
- Experience with automotive buffers, buffing techniques, or vehicle paint correction is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience can be valuable in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills while working part-time 10-16 hours a week with flexible scheduling.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 16.0 per week
