What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator - Fuel position at Melzer's Fuel Service?
Established fuel provider is seeking a qualified individual to fill a vacancy for a Logistics Coordinator - Fuel. This is an in-house position located at our Moon Township location, close to the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate the daily dispatching of 15-20 fuel trucks with multiple products to ensure timely and efficient delivery
- Monitor fuel inventory levels and schedule deliveries accordingly
- Utilize transportation management systems to track and manage fuel shipments
- Measure route efficiency and driver productivity
- Maintain accurate records of fuel deliveries, including quantities, locations, and times
- Communicate effectively as the first point of contact with driver, and professionally with customers, drivers and sales staff
- Monitor and comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and hazardous materials industry
- Anticipate and plan for seasonal changes in usage
- Execute daily plan outside of normal business activities (evening for next morning for example, early morning for morning, etc.)
Requirements:
- Previous experience in dispatching or logistics preferred
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and supply chain processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in data entry and comfortable working with spreadsheets
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle stressful situations calmly
- Ability to analyze driver hours, utilization of equipment and manpower needs
- Willingness to dedicate time needed to perform job functions effectively
