Job Summary
The Credit and Collections Specialist should have excellent customer service, negotiation, communication and analytics skills. An associates degree in accounting is preferred but not necessary. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and is able to be assertive with the day-to-day collection activities - while still maintaining professionalism and being able to retain our current customer base.
Typical credit/collections specialist duties:
- Creating and maintaining credit history files
- Analyzing and assessing the creditworthiness of accounts and clients using external credit risk management tools and reports
- Supporting the collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio
- Documenting daily collections activity
- Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies
- Performing account and payment reconciliations
- Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients
- Identifying delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts
- Identifying bad debt or financial exposure
