Description
Controls Installation Technician
Duties include but not limited to:
- Layout and install electrical and pneumatic control systems for custom machines and tooling
- Inspect and verify function of control systems
- Coordinate with supervisor and team to ensure job schedule is maintained
- Assist in mechanical assembly of machines and tooling
- Assist in machine and tooling integration
- Assist in preparing machines and tooling for shipment
- Work with supervisor and team on various continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean and orderly workspace
Requirements
Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to operate basic shop equipment: metal band saw, hand drill, drill press, grinder, MIG welder, fork truck, ladder, scissor lift, etc.
- Familiar with personal computers, Windows 7, MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
- Ability to read and follow electrical and pneumatic diagrams
- Knowledge of control components and hardware: various pneumatic fittings, air line, conduit, J-boxes, PLC, relays, safety relays, light curtains, user interface panels, prox. switches, reed switches, etc.
- Basic MIG welding skills
- Ability to communicate well with customers, team members, management, etc.
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Automation Technology or equivalent
