Fractional - Public Relations Assistant (Austin, TX)

Melt Studio is looking for an outgoing, community-oriented Public Relations Assistant to be our presence in Texas's startup ecosystem. This is a fractional, activity-based role based in Austin, TX, with co-working access at Capital Factory.

We know you may be working on other projects or ventures—this role is designed to fit alongside your other work. You'll have a dedicated workspace at Capital Factory to use for whatever you're working on, and we'll compensate you for structured engagement activities in the startup community.

If you love being in the room where it happens—at demo days, pitch nights, meetups, and founder gatherings—this is your chance to represent a growing international studio while building your own network and career.

• Primary base: Austin, TX
• Co-working access: Capital Factory (use it for your own work too!)
• Event travel: Occasional trips to nearby cities like San Antonio or Houston for events
• This is a fractional role—we expect you're working on other things, and that's great
  

This is a hybrid of brand ambassador, community builder, and early pipeline activator. You'll represent Melt Studio in the startup ecosystem, engage directly with founders, promote our pro-bono prototype program, and build long-term relationships with accelerators, investors, and ecosystem connectors.

You will be our presence on the ground, and our link to founders who are shaping what’s next.

• $1,000 - $1,500/month base for structured engagement activities (your choice of commitment level)
• 10% commission for 6 months on revenue from any customer you source
• Co-working access at Capital Factory (use it for all your work)
  

$1,000/month:

• 3 co-working visits per week at Capital Factory
• 4 startup/tech events per week (meetups, demo days, pitch nights, networking events)
• 10 new contacts per week logged into our CRM from event interactions
• 1 weekly call with JP to review progress, contacts, and opportunities

$1,500/month:

• 5 co-working visits per week at Capital Factory
• 8 startup/tech events per week
• 15 new contacts per week logged into our CRM from event interactions
• 1 weekly call with JP to review progress, contacts, and opportunities

Both levels include the same 10% commission structure and the ability to book discovery calls when there's a strong match between a founder and Melt Studio's services.

This is activity-based, not time-based. You control your schedule and can work on other projects. We're paying you to be present, connected, and strategic in the Austin startup community.

• Attend 4 - 8 startup/tech events per week in Austin (demo days, pitch nights, meetups, founder dinners, happy-hours)
• Visit Capital Factory 3-5 times per week to work and connect with the community
• Meet entrepreneurs, introduce them to Melt Studio's services and pro-bono prototype program
• Add 10 - 15 new contacts per week to our CRM with notes from conversations
• Book discovery calls with founders who are a strong match for our services
• Join a weekly progress call with JP to review contacts, opportunities, and next steps
• Build genuine relationships with accelerator directors, investors, and ecosystem builders
• Be a warm, consistent voice of Melt Studio in the Austin startup community
