What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Piano Teacher (Adult Students) position at Melody Music Co-Op?
Advanced Piano Teacher Wanted — Kirkland/Redmond/Bellevue/Sammamish Area
Melody Music Co-op is hiring an experienced piano teacher to work with our adult and advanced students. This is a great fit for a pianist with strong technical training who enjoys teaching serious hobbyists and returning adult learners — not just early beginners.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 5 years playing piano yourself, with demonstrated technical proficiency (formal degree not required — we care about ability, not credentials alone)
- Comfortable teaching intermediate–advanced repertoire
- Experience or strong interest in working with adult students specifically
- Reliable transportation for lessons in client homes
What you'll get:
- $30–40 per 30-minute lesson ($60–80/hour equivalent), based on experience
- Choose your own schedule and coordinate your student roster geographically to minimize driving
- Support setting up your schedule when you start, and ongoing scheduling help as needed
- Be part of a small, close-knit teaching team — not a faceless contractor marketplace. We hold biannual recitals in our own event space, and we genuinely invest in mentorship and community among our teachers
- Optional path into our RCM/ABRSM-accredited curriculum track if you're interested
Serving Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, and Sammamish (in-home) with online options available.
