- Monday- Friday (flexibility needed)
- Fully on-site
- Starting Salary: $75,000 ( ) based on years of experience
- Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
- American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and Pennsylvania SLP License.
- Strong background in feeding and swallowing disorders with Adults strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge in the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis, clinical application of severe communication deficits with individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Some experience working with individuals with significant challenging behaviors. Some experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) with nonverbal individuals.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in special education field/speech and language pathology.
- Provides speech and language services to assigned caseload utilizing an integrated therapy model by implementing functional and appropriate goals and objectives.
- Provides comprehensive feeding and swallowing evaluations and collaborates with each client’s interdisciplinary team.
- Actively participates as member of all assigned clients’ interdisciplinary teams. Participation includes completing assessments, evaluations, formulation of goals and objectives, and progress monitoring.
- Participates as an integral team member on new admission protocols, including attendance at pre-admission meetings, review pre-admission medical and therapeutic evaluations and current ISP/IPP, conducting comprehensive assessments within first 90 days of admission.
- Attends monthly IDT meetings of assigned clients as needed, when indicated. Communicates as a member of the interdisciplinary team when making new proposals or modifications to existing goals, plans, services, etc…
- Provides staff training to day program and residential staff on any specific SLP goals and objectives, feeding protocols or general language and communication topics.
- Participates in the collaborative team model at Melmark, which will include all support services required of SLPs: client ratio support when needed for day program/residential staff, support in data collection, support in group management, support in daily living skills when needed, etc.
