General Responsibilities: Under the leadership of the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Manager is an integral member of the Melmark Advancement team, responsible for providing executive assistance and programmatic support to a diverse and comprehensive fundraising program. The Manager#s efforts are primarily specific to Melmark New England but shall include support for Melmark PA as required. The program includes annual and major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, special events, donor stewardship and recognition, board relations, and other fundraising and advancement initiatives as deemed appropriate. The Advancement Manager shall demonstrate best practices in fundraising and event management, including compliance with the Association of Fundraising Professionals# Code of Ethical Standards. The Manager shall be committed to continuous learning through reading mainstream and trade publications, and participating in conferences and other educational opportunities. Essential Functions: # Perform all aspects of event execution, budgeting, securing sponsors and attendees/teams, as well as post event wrap up/analysis and follow up. Facilitate and manage existing relationships as well as help to create new relationships with key donors, sponsors and event attendees with potential for growth. Demonstrate creativity and research new ideas and concepts that uphold the organization#s high quality expectations, while remaining cost-effective. Assist with the recruitment, orientation, management and oversight of event committees and volunteers, in collaboration with the Director of Advancement and other leadership as appropriate. Manage online giving pages pertaining to special events, and event calendars. Develop and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with event sponsors and organization vendors. Ensure that required contracts, regulatory or licensing requirements are adhered to and completed in a timely manner. Support the organization#s marketing and communications efforts including promotion of all events (pre and post), execution of social media calendar, website updates and other activity as requested. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement. # Basic Qualifications: Education/Training: Bachelor#s degree required. Certifications/Licensure: A valid US driver#s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, and Melmark#s Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program. Skill(s): Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including attention to detail and accuracy. Critical thinker who can work under multiple deadlines and priorities. Skilled communicator with high-level interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Self-motivated, resourceful and conscientious. Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor and student information. Able to work evenings and weekends as required. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Raiser#s Edge and Greater Giving programs. Ability to work with Adobe InDesign a plus. Experience: Three years of experience in a fundraising, including special events. Non-profit human services or educational setting preferred. Direct experience planning and managing special events program preferred. Volunteer management. Interrelationships: Interacts with all Melmark New England departments as well as Melmark PA Advancement, Marketing, and other departments.
