JOB SUMMARY:
Melissa Memorial Hospital is looking for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to bring a unique perspective to the care of the sick or injured. You will be an integral part of the EMS team by helping care for patients in the pre-hospital environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist the paramedics, other EMS, and hospital staff in providing patient care in the pre-hospital setting and Emergency Department
- Safely and effectively providing high quality basic life-support including assessment, triage, treatment as well as technical procedures to all pre-hospital, emergency department or other hospital/clinic patients
- Airway management
- Initiating IV access
- Collecting blood samples
- Administering approved medication
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- IO placement
- Patient assessment
- History gathering

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Required Skills
- Analytical, organized, multi-tasked, excellent communicator, collaborative, relationship building, scheduling.
Required Experience
- State or NREMT certification as EMT Basic
- High school, GED, or Associated Degree.
- BLS certification including CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Salary : $20 - $25
