Role Description The Social Media Marketing Intern will support the planning, creation, and scheduling of content across social media platforms to increase awareness of Melhem Scientific’s research activities and opportunities. Day-to-day tasks include drafting posts, designing simple visual assets, monitoring engagement, responding to basic inquiries, and coordinating with team members to highlight ongoing projects and events. The intern will assist in implementing digital marketing campaigns, tracking performance metrics, and suggesting data-informed improvements to social media strategies. This is an internship role based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be completed from home while attending on-site meetings and activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Social media expertise, including skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation.
- Foundational understanding of Digital Marketing and Marketing principles.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- Interest in healthcare, science, or research; prior exposure to academic or scientific settings is a plus.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
