What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory/Small Equipment Manager position at Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc.?
Overall Responsibility: To ensure the protection of company assets (tools, small equipment and controllables), through effective direction, documentation, control, planning, record keeping, support and cost effective purchasing.
Key tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to all personnel that request needed items in order to perform their job in an effective and safe manner.
- To keep a system of records/tracking of any item(s) issued to requesting personnel.
- Work in conjunction with the Equipment Manager on the planning and delivery of any equipment that is requested in the field.
- Establish contact/relationships with vendors in order to purchase needed items in a cost effective manner in order to save the company money.
- Ensure that any needed tool or equipment is repaired in a prompt and cost efficient manner.
- Communicate needs of any items that may need to be purchased in order to ensure the operation runs effectively.
- Review and approve all invoices in a timely manner regarding rentals and purchases.
- Perform unannounced inventory inspections on job sites as needed in order to ensure that various equipment is documented and recorded in inventory records.
- Report any hazards or unsafe working conditions, and take appropriate action to ensure job safety.
- Serve as a resource on problem solving issues to every employee in the company.
Skills and Attributes:
- Display organizational skills and keep the Office and Tool Room in a safe and well stocked environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to establish relationships with various vendors in order to control costs.
- Must have a working knowledge of available products in order to properly support personnel in the field.
Experience Requirements:
- Inventory Control/Asset Protection experience in the Construction or related field.
- Working knowledge of power tools/small equipment.
