Location: NYC Hybrid at our Flatiron office (3 in-office days required)

Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000/year

Melander Marketing & Communications is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Account Executive to join our team. This is a full-time position where you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the team with a range of exciting projects, including media relations, influencer marketing, event planning, and administrative tasks. Experience:

• At least 1 year of beauty PR agency internship experience is required for this role
• Strong verbal and communication skills, with the ability to write clear pitches and confidently speak with team and colleagues
• Familiarity with tools like MuckRack, Cision, MightyScout and similar media databases
• Comfortable managing timelines and details across multiple projects
• Experience supporting events, influencer mailers, and product launches
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to pitch and present ideas clearly to clients and media
• A Bachelor’s degree in PR, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

Responsibilities include:

• Day-to-day account work, including product send outs, daily media monitoring across print, online and social media, drafting placement emails, updating media trackers, identifying trends, competitive research, etc.
• Work alongside team to draft target media lists, pitches, PR plans, press materials, event briefings, agendas, recaps, status documents and monthly reports
• Research and collect information to help inform client plans and programs
• Actively participate in staff meetings
• Identify trends across the influencer landscape and social media
• Support team with select media and influencer outreach
• Assist team in the development, logistics and execution of creative deliveries, media events, desksides, etc.
