What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Performance Analyst position at Meketa Investment Group?
Summary:
The Real Estate Performance Analyst role is a junior to mid-level role, with 1-3 years of previous experience post bachelor’s degree. They collect and synthesize Private Market real estate data to calculate client investment performance, risk statistics and portfolio exposure over time. The PA plays a supporting role to Consultants and Investment Analysts in servicing the firm’s Private Market real estate clients.
Over the course of their work, PAs learn a great deal about the investment consulting process, from overall Private Market real estate diversification to understanding and synthesizing significant occurrences of various General Partners. The focus on commercial real estate will allow the PA to become familiar with various property types, risk designations, and portfolio strategy. We encourage employees to continue to grow their economic and investment knowledge by enrolling in the CIPM, CFA, or CAIA programs.
Responsibilities:
- Independently gather, prioritize, and verify financial data related to client accounts and private market real estate investments
- Enter gathered data into Meketa’s performance reporting system.
- Calculate and verify client-related returns and statistics
- Investigate and resolve performance discrepancies; reconcile and validate cash activity and market values, ensuring that investment data is appropriately reflected
- Produce client-ready data for quarterly performance reports, including reviewing data for accuracy and reasonableness
- Collaborate on the development of internal analytical tools and report updates
- Work with Investment Analysts and Consultants with special projects as needed
- Fulfill any and all other duties deemed vital by management
Position Qualificaitons:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Math, or Finance preferred
- Familiarity with accounting, financial and/or statistical concepts
- Experience using excel, including advanced formulas (e.g. lookups) in addition to experience with general word processing software.
- Prior commercial real estate experience is a plus.
- Prior auditing and/or data reconciliation experience is a plus.
