Position Overview
EssilorLuxottica is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Senior Manager – Accounting to lead month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit activities. This role will partner closely with finance teams across North America and global corporate offices to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and hands-on knowledge of SAP FI/CO, financial consolidations, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and estimates.
- Manage revenue deferrals, depreciation, legal expenses, marketing, and G&A accounting.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Oversee consolidation and group reporting submissions to corporate.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and segregation of duties.
- Assess accounting treatment for complex transactions.
- Manage reconciliation of intercompany balances and financial systems.
Audit Management
- Serve as primary liaison with internal and external auditors.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Coordinate timely resolution of audit findings.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor accounting staff.
- Set performance objectives and provide coaching and feedback.
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Support implementation of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Senior Accountant: 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.
- Experience with SAP FI/CO and multiple ERP systems.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with strong leadership and organizational abilities.
