About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful Workplace & People Ops Specialist to join us part-time and become the heart of our Palo Alto office. This isn't just an administrative role; you are the cultural ambassador, the community builder, and the key liaison ensuring a seamless connection between our US team and our global headquarters. You will report directly to the Head of our People Support Team based in China, making you a critical bridge between two vibrant cultures.
Responsibilities
- Build an Amazing Office Vibe: You'll own the day-to-day experience of our Palo Alto workspace. This includes everything from managing leases and vendor relationships to ensuring the lights stay on and the space feels like a true home for innovation. You're the go-to person for making our office a great place to work.
- Master Global Logistics: Be the crucial link for our global team spirit! You'll manage the inbound logistics of company swag and employee perks from our HQ, navigating customs clearance and ensuring these goodies are distributed to our team across the US.
- Connect with Future Innovators: Help us build strong ties with top-tier universities like Stanford and UC Berkeley. You'll be our on-the-ground support for campus events and initiatives, helping to position Meitu as a top destination for emerging talent.
- Champion Our Community: This is where you truly shine. We want you to immerse yourself in the local Chinese tech community. Build authentic relationships, become a familiar face at key events, and help us create a strong talent pipeline and brand presence within this dynamic ecosystem.
- Deliver a Flawless Onboarding Experience: You'll manage the "final mile" of our new hire journey, ensuring a warm and efficient welcome. This includes practical tasks like setting up building access, issuing ID cards, distributing laptops and office supplies, and making sure our new team members feel ready to go from day one.
Qualifications
- Native-Level Mandarin & Fluent English: You are perfectly bilingual and, more importantly, bicultural. You navigate conversations and relationships in both languages with ease and nuance.
- Deep Community Roots: You have a profound understanding of Chinese corporate culture and are deeply connected with the local Chinese tech community in the Bay Area. You know the networks, the events, and the people.
- U.S. Work Authorization: You must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., Green Card holder, U.S. Citizen). Please note: This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
- Local Presence: You must be a resident of the Bay Area Peninsula, with a preference for those located near Palo Alto. This is a hybrid role requiring regular on-site presence for hands-on office management and community engagement.
- Cross-Time-Zone Agility: You possess excellent communication skills and the flexibility to collaborate effectively with our People Support Team in China, accommodating different time zones.
