Responsibilities
- Diagnose automotive issues using advanced automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems accurately.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including powertrain, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Conduct wheel alignments and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations to ensure vehicle safety features operate correctly.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools efficiently and safely.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex systems such as diesel engines or transmissions.
- Complete auto estimating tasks for repairs, ensuring clear communication of necessary work to customers.
- Maintain detailed service records and document all repairs performed for quality assurance and warranty purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Solid mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with ADAS calibration procedures and alignment equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to clients.
- Experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; diesel engine repair experience is also desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in diagnosing complex vehicle issues.
