Painter – Facilities Department
12 Month Position
January, 2026
Position Summary: Responsible for painting, repairing and maintaining all painted interior and exterior surfaces throughout the District.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program
- Job-related prior experience required
Essential Job Functions include the following: Other Duties May Be Assigned
- Determines proper procedures and products to be applied.
- Prepares surrounding environment to protect from splatter or spill of paint or paint-related products.
- Prepares surfaces for painting.
- Applies paint to walls, ceilings, lockers, equipment, etc., using brushes, rollers and/or sprayers.
- Repairs drywall to include bracing, hanging and refinishing.
- Patches and repairs plaster surfaces.
- Leads summer painting projects and the helpers assigned to the projects.
- Lays-out and paints playground stripes.
- Assists other maintenance personnel as needed.
- Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.
COMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule
