This position is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the clinic’s operations related to six grant-funded initiatives addressing substance use disorders, including opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment, through integrated primary care. The Clinical Supervisor functions as the operational lead for all clinical workflows, compliance, and care coordination activities within the clinic. This role includes oversight of regulatory audits, third-party billing readiness, and staff performance management. The Clinical Supervisor will supervise a minimum of four (4) clinical and programmatic staff members, conduct regular performance reviews, and coordinate interdisciplinary services with internal departments and external agencies. Additionally, this individual ensures the consistent application of clinical protocols, oversees behavioral health consultation efforts, and works collaboratively with leadership on the development and implementation of new clinical programs and grant-funded initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day clinical operations of the MAT/OBOT clinic, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and clinical protocols. Supervise clinic staff in all facets of care coordination and service delivery.
  • Lead all audit readiness and compliance efforts, including internal reviews and preparation for state licensure, healthcare compliance, insurance billing, and electronic medical records (eCW) audits.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision for staff, including scheduling, onboarding, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, and coordination of in-service training. Ensure clinical documentation meets quality standards.
  • Maintain licensure and accreditation for OBOT/MAT clinic operations. Ensure proper billing and reimbursement from TN Care and other payers. Maintain operational documentation for third-party reimbursement and grant compliance.
  • Collaborate with prescribing physicians to direct treatment plans, ensure follow-up care, and track patient progress using approved data systems.
  • Participate in grant writing, proposal development, and program design for sustainability of clinic services. Provide programmatic input for budgeting and deliverable planning.
  • Reviews client files to ensure appropriate information is collected and evaluation forms are completed.
  • Communicate with external partner agencies, referral sources, and community-based providers to coordinate service delivery and track patient outcomes..
  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, monthly collaboration meetings with partner agencies, and clinic-wide performance reviews.
  • Report regularly on clinic operations, service utilization, and staffing to the Principal Investigator. Assist with data compilation and narrative reporting for grants.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective operation of the clinic.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong clinic operations and supervisory skills, including staff development, scheduling, and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing MAT/OBOT clinical programs and supporting populations with substance use disorders.
  • Proficiency in audit preparation, quality assurance protocols, and documentation best practices.
  • Ability to manage partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and state agencies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, particularly Medicaid/TennCare billing requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with clinical staff, academic researchers, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with grant management, data collection systems, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in office software, EMRs (e.g., eCW), and secure data management platforms.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and equitable service delivery in marginalized communities.
Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or other behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of five (3) years’ experience working in with patients with substance use disorders, particularly opioids.
  • Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, LCSW, LPC or other behavioral health field preferred.
  • Experience with grant-funded program implementation and reporting strongly preferred.

  • Will require ability to travel – overnight stay
