Job Summary
Megunticook Golf Club is seeking motivated individuals to join our seasonal grounds maintenance staff. Join our golf course maintenance crew this Spring that helps take care of this historic and beautiful 66 acre property playing a vital role in creating and maintaining a pristine, inviting environment for golfers and visitors alike. This position is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team that keeps the golf course in top playing condition and surrounding clubhouse areas in pristine condition. We currently have seasonal full time and part time positions available performing landscape maintenance, turf care, and equipment upkeep while fostering a welcoming atmosphere that keeps members and guests coming back. Golf privileges, staff clothing, and lunch included.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the playing conditions and overall appearance of the golf course through mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough, raking bunkers, course set-up, divot repair, trimming, etc.
- Assist with irrigation system operation, adjustments, and repairs to ensure optimal watering schedules for healthy turf growth.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, fertilizing, leaf blowing, and weed control to enhance course and clubhouse aesthetics.
- Conduct routine lawn care activities including aeration, overseeding, and topdressing to promote healthy turf conditions.
- Operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Support horticulture efforts by caring for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plantings around the golf course, clubhouse, tennis courts, and parking lots.
- Perform maintenance duties assigned by the Superintendent working with maintenance crew staff to complete daily maintenance schedules and respond promptly to any course issues or emergencies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or turf management is preferred but not required; We will train right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work early morning hours.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work; drivers license preferred
- Ability to operate mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment safely.
- Familiarity with general land management practices is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork and member service skills with a proactive enthusiastic attitude toward maintaining course quality standards and greeting members and their guests
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs) , digging, and standing for extended periods. We are committed to train the right candidate to enhance your skills to help craft an exceptional golfing and club environment.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
