As our organization continues to expand, we are looking for an accomplished Senior Project Manager who is ready to take ownership of complex, high-profile projects and play a critical role in our continued growth. As Megawatt Solutions continues to expand across the United States, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead complex, large-scale low-voltage and structured cabling projects for major data center clients. This is a high-impact position for a project leader who understands that successful low-voltage projects require more than scheduling and paperwork. The ideal candidate understands the technical details, field installation process, production requirements, client expectations, and commercial side of low-voltage project delivery. The Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful execution of assigned low voltage, structured cabling, and data center infrastructure projects from project award through final testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout. This individual will lead the project team while maintaining close involvement with field operations, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, accurately, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and client requirements. The successful candidate will spend meaningful time in the field working directly with Superintendents, Foremen, technicians, subcontractors, General Contractors, commissioning teams, and clients to ensure that the installation is progressing correctly and that issues are resolved quickly. Responsibilities


• Take ownership of assigned low-voltage and structured cabling projects from award through successful completion.

• Develop and implement project execution strategies specific to the low-voltage scope.

• Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, scope of work, schedules, and client requirements.

• Establish project milestones, deliverables, responsibilities, and communication procedures.

• Coordinate all aspects of structured cabling and low-voltage installation activities.

• Ensure project teams understand scope, schedule, quality expectations, and production requirements.

• Oversee the project controls, specifically tracking budgeted vs. actual labor hours, cost-to-complete forecasting, committed costs, and overall project financial performance.

• Manage multiple projects and provide higher level financial, contractual, and client oversight.

• Maintain accountability for project performance from mobilization through closeout.

• Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems and data center connectivity infrastructure.

• Review drawings and specifications to ensure installations meet design intent.

• Coordinate cabling requirements with electrical, mechanical, security, fire alarm, IT, and other low voltage trades where applicable.

• Work with engineering and design teams to identify conflicts, constructability issues, and scope gaps.

• Maintain an active presence on project sites. Lead from the field when necessary—not from behind a desk.

• Conduct regular field walks to verify installation progress, quality, manpower, materials, and schedule performance.

• Work directly with Superintendents and Foremen to establish daily and weekly production objectives.

• Identify field issues early and develop practical solutions.

• Remove obstacles preventing field teams from maintaining production.

• Verify that field teams have the correct drawings, materials, tools, equipment, manpower, and information required to execute the work.

• Review installation methods and sequencing to improve productivity and quality.

• Hold field teams and subcontractors accountable for schedule and quality commitments.

• Develop and maintain detailed low-voltage project schedules.

• Coordinate structured cabling activities with overall data center construction schedules.

• Monitor critical milestones, including mobilization, material delivery, installation, termination, testing, certification, commissioning, and turnover.

• Identify schedule risks and develop recovery strategies.

• Ensure project teams meet aggressive data center deployment schedules.

• Maintain responsibility for the financial performance of assigned projects by develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.

• Monitor labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs.

• Review job-cost reports and identify cost variances.

• Protect project margins through effective scope, labor, material, and change management.

• Partner with company leadership and finance teams on project financial reporting. • Ensure timely and accurate project billing.

• Review project scope and identify potential changes, omissions, and additional work.

• Prepare and manage change order documentation.

• Quantify labor, material, equipment, and other costs associated with changes.

• Ensure out-of-scope work is properly documented and track pending, approved, and executed change orders.

• Identify contractual risks and potential financial exposure.

• Protect Megawatt Solutions' interests while maintaining strong client relationships.

• Coordinate procurement of cable, fiber, connectivity hardware, racks, cabinets, patch panels, cable management systems, pathway components, and other low-voltage materials.

• Monitor material lead time, identifying potential shortage, maintaining visibility into material status throughout the project lifecycle to ensure materials arrive on site when required to avoid material related delays.


Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.

• 10 years of progressive project management experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, data center infrastructure.

• 5 years of experience managing large-scale low-voltage or structured cabling projects.

• Demonstrated experience working with major General Contractors, data center owners, hyperscalers, or enterprise clients is highly desirable.

• Regular presence at active data center project sites is required.

• Travel throughout the United States may be required based on project assignments.

• Must be comfortable working in active data center and construction environments.

• Flexibility to support critical project milestones when required.

• Proven ability to manage complex low-voltage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.

• Strong understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, copper systems, data center connectivity, cable management, racks, pathways, testing, and certification.

• Ability to lead both office and field teams, establish accountability, and drive successful project execution.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate risks and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is preferred.

• PMP, RCDD, BICSI DCDC, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
