The Role

Reporting to the Edge Service Development - Team Lead, the Junior Backend Software Engineer (Terraform) is responsible for the development of cloud-native technologies powering Megaport’s SaaS-based, multi-cloud, application orchestration platform with a focus on our Terraform provider. Ideal candidates will have a background in many aspects of modern software engineering and an eagerness to create innovative products. The environment is fast-paced and fun while working with cutting-edge technologies.

• Developing client tools for the Megaport API in Go including our terraform provider, client SDKs, and CLI tools.
• Working closely with our API teams
• Meeting with developers in the west coast USA, and Brisbane Australia
• Help triage bug reports, feature requests, and customer questions about our public API tools

• Experience with Hashicorp Terraform
• Experience with the Go programming language
• Experience interacting with APIs using REST
• General understanding of secure coding practices and security tools
• Knowledge of version control platforms and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, Github or Bitbucket
• Experience working in an Agile environment, developing in two-week sprints
