JD:

• Material Handling Supervisor* oversees the efficient movement, storage, and protection of materials and products throughout our facility.
• In this role, you will lead a team of material handlers, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, and optimize warehouse workflows to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and daily task assignments.
• Operational Oversight: Coordinate the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure all materials are delivered to production lines or shipping docks accurately and on time.
• Inventory Accuracy: Oversee cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software to maintain real-time inventory precision.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce all OSHA and company safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and equipment inspections (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) to maintain a zero-accident environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in material flow and implement Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Equipment Management: Ensure all material handling equipment is properly maintained and scheduled for routine service.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Quality Control departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless operations.

Skills Required:

• The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in logistics, inventory management, and team development.
• Experience in Body shop /stamping / subassembly, or manufacturing assembly and machining experience desired *Lean Manufacturing principles *Constraint management principles *Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook) *Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of material handlers and equipment operators.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).

Experience Required:

• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Certifications: Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability to become certified).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively lead a team and report to upper management.
• Experience: o Ability to work independently with limited supervision o Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput o Strong organizational and administrative skills o Ability to multi-task o Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Experience Preferred:

• Safety and MP&L experience preferred
