What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Megan's Landing Veterinary Clinic?
Megan's Landing is seeking a confident, motivated, & empathetic veterinary technician to join our team. We are a fast paced, one doctor practice seeking a full-time technician Mon, Tues, Wens, & Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm & Fridays from 7:30 am until 1 pm. No evenings, weekends, boarding, daycare,or grooming! Our practice focuses on delivering compassionate, high quality medical care with outstanding client service, and a great team atmosphere.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Handling patients in a compassionate, low-stress manner (existing Fear Free certification is a plus!)
- Checking in clients and obtaining complete patient history
- Patient Care - taking vitals, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, running basic diagnostic tests, preparing animals for surgery, taking x-rays, running rooms, dental cleanings, etc.
- Recording patient notes in medical records via Avimark software (we are a paperless clinic)
- Conversing with clients via PetDesk app
- Running in-house Idexx lab equipment
- Running in-house Zoetis Imagyst equipment
- Safely filling and administering medications as directed
- Managing anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Client education on topics including vaccines, flea/heartworm prevention, diet, behavior, & disease prevention

Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a veterinary nurse or technician
- Skilled at drawing blood & placing IV catheters
- Fear Free & Cat Friendly certification is not required, but is a plus!
- Must be comfortable with computers (we are a paperless clinic!) and experience with Avimark is a plus
Salary: DOE & education $18-$23/hr w/ flexibility for licensed technicians
