Position Requirements:
- At least 2 years as an operations specialist on a broker or LM team
- At least 1 year of appointment scheduling experience
- Must work in office
- Hours 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Friday, Some Weekends, Some Weeknights on call.
- $19.23 / hour ($40,000) bonus
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Develops account management skills by assisting Account Manager in managing his/her business.
- This role may require working outside of a M-F 8am-5pm schedule. On call shifts to include nights and weekends.
- Will assist team in answering phones and load coverage
- Book and manage shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Exceed both customer and Broker expectations by bringing new ideas and processes to improve workflow and time management
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assisting Account Manager in servicing his/her business, including but not limited to development of the following:
- Relationships with carriers and skills in evaluating and selecting carriers.
- Skills in negotiating carrier rates.
- Skills in scheduling and servicing loads and handling fiduciary responsibilities.
- Skills in use of company’s HERO software.
- Skills in use of Salesforce
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with primary and secondary carriers for contracted freight moves.
- Analyze past carrier performance, schedules, cost and availability of appropriate equipment in selecting carrier for each load.
- Act as a liaison between clients, carriers, shippers and receivers.
- Negotiates constantly changing carrier rates for the spot market and to evaluate potential fixed-rate contracts.
- Evaluates carrier performance, including safety and insurance coverage, and make future carrier selections accordingly.
- Monitors progress of loads; maintain awareness of potential in-transit issues, such as weather problems, and take action in advance where possible to ensure timely delivery while managing costs.
- Analyze and resolve in-transit issues, taking client satisfaction and costs into consideration in determining best solution; consults with client and recommends solution as appropriate.
- Ensures all fiduciary responsibilities are met and that all fees and costs are documented for each load.
- Resolve client claims and receivables issues.
- Accurately enter and maintain up-to-date information in company software.
- Other duties as required.
