Senior Medical Director, Clinical Research – Neurodegeneration
Overview
We are seeking a physician leader to drive clinical development programs in neurodegeneration, with a primary focus on Huntington’s disease. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across all stages of development, advancing innovative therapeutics from early research through late-stage clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical lead for neurodegeneration programs, shaping and executing development strategy
- Lead Phase 2/3 clinical trials, including study design, oversight, and safety monitoring
- Partner cross-functionally with Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Preclinical, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams
- Provide clinical guidance to research teams on target feasibility and early-stage development plans
- Drive timelines, deliverables, and overall program execution
- Oversee and contribute to key documents (protocols, IBs, regulatory submissions, publications, and presentations)
- Represent clinical programs in regulatory interactions and scientific forums
- Collaborate with external experts, investigators, and partners
Qualifications
- MD or MD/PhD with a strong research background and publication record
- 10 years of industry or equivalent academic clinical development experience
- Proven success leading Phase 2/3 clinical programs and engaging with regulatory authorities
- Experience in neurology or neurodegenerative diseases (Huntington’s disease preferred)
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial design, biostatistics, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
