Job Summary
Seeking a Production Scientist to support the synthesis and manufacturing of small organic molecules and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) during process development, optimization, technology transfer, scale-up, and validation activities. This role involves hands-on chemical synthesis, operation of laboratory and manufacturing equipment, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and compliant production processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical synthesis and reactions on gram to multi-kilogram scale.
- Support process development, optimization, scale-up, technology transfer, and validation activities.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Follow cGMP requirements, SOPs, and safety procedures while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Identify and escalate processing, quality, or operational issues.
- Complete calculations, record results, and support data entry and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and customer objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with coursework in organic chemistry; OR
- Associate degree or high school diploma with 4 years of chemical manufacturing experience.
- Experience performing organic synthesis or chemical manufacturing activities.
- Knowledge of cGMP environments and laboratory documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- API manufacturing experience is preferred.
