Summary Description:
The QA Technician will ensure that high quality standards and food compliance are met for the Oxford facility. This position requires knowledge of working in a food production/packing environment.
Requirements:
· HACCP certification / formalized training and experience working with a functional HACCP program.
· Quality experience working in the food industry.
· Knowledge of Food Plant Sanitation, Pest Control, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
· Working knowledge of sampling/testing procedures and 3rd party testing labs.
· Strong team player with the ability to build solid relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization.
· Technical and problem-solving skills.
· Data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Work directly with QA Manager and Plant Manager to ensure high quality standards and compliance to overall quality specifications.
· Monitor production floor activities including verification of CCP’s and other in-process documentation to ensure compliance with HACCP and SOP’s.
· Inspect incoming materials/records, in-process procedures/flow, finished goods/packaging – trouble shoot issues for raw materials and follow up with supplier.
· Ensure that all incoming and outgoing product meets strict quality and food safety standard
· Deliver superior quality through continuous improvement of quality systems.
· Work with outside lab for sample submissions and environmental testing.
· Assist with customer complaints investigation and implement corrective action where necessary.
· Monitor sanitation schedule for weekly/monthly/quarterly sanitation requirements, follow up with sanitation crew to ensure completion, record and interpret results.
· Support QA Manager and Plant Manager to ensure compliance to Company Audit Programs (manufacturing practices, HACCP standards, maintenance, food safety, etc.), as well as to audits required by external parties.
· Monthly/Daily Activities Include
o Metal detector checks
o Label verifications
o Daily QA checks
o Cleaning lab
o Swabs (Friday)
o Swabs (monthly)
o Samples from production o Product evaluation (forms, pictures)
o Samples from bulk
o Lab equipment verification
o Pre-op metal detector and label check
o Submission forms for 3rd party labs
o Resampling product
o Label approvals
· 40 work week or as necessary in line with production schedule.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,374.39 - $55,848.73 per year
