About Us

Meeks Construction is a growing exterior remodeling company serving homeowners and commercial clients throughout Eastern Iowa and the Quad Cities. Our services include roofing, siding, windows, doors, decks, gutters, and exterior repairs.

We are looking for a creative, outgoing, and dependable person to manage our social media presence and capture the real people, projects, and knowledge behind our company.

This is not a position for someone who only wants to create graphics or schedule generic posts. We need someone comfortable visiting active jobsites, interacting with customers and crews, recording videos, asking questions, and turning everyday construction activity into engaging content.

Responsibilities

• Visit active jobsites approximately 3–4 times per week
• Capture quality photos and short-form video content
• Edit and publish content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Google Business Profile
• Produce approximately 3–5 short-form videos per week
• Create approximately 3–4 photo, educational, or promotional posts per week
• Develop before-and-after project content
• Record customer testimonials when available
• Create educational videos featuring our owner and team members
• Highlight employees, company culture, completed projects, and community involvement
• Write captions that match the Meeks Construction brand and voice
• Maintain a rolling content calendar
• Monitor basic comments and social media messages
• Organize photos and videos by customer, project, and service
• Track performance and provide a short monthly report
• Coordinate with our office and production team to identify the best projects to feature

What We’re Looking For

• Creative, confident, and comfortable approaching people
• Able to take initiative without needing every post assigned
• Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and short-form video
• Basic video editing, photography, writing, and graphic-design skills
• Able to make construction and home-improvement topics interesting and easy to understand
• Organized and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Dependable transportation and willingness to travel to jobsites
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable working around active construction sites and outdoors
• Available during some weekday business hours when crews are working
• Willing to occasionally adjust hours for special projects, events, or weather-related opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous social media, content creation, photography, videography, or marketing experience
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe products, or similar editing tools
• Familiarity with home improvement, construction, real estate, or local service businesses
• Existing portfolio or examples of social media content
• Experience reviewing social media analytics and identifying successful content

Schedule and Compensation

• Part-time position averaging 15–25 hours per week
• Starting pay of $25 per hour, based on experience and portfolio
• Flexible schedule built around active jobs and content opportunities
• Approved jobsite mileage reimbursed
• Initial 90-day evaluation period
• Opportunity for increased responsibility as the company and position grow

How Success Will Be Measured

Success in this position will be based on consistency, creativity, organization, and execution—not simply follower count. Key expectations include:

• Consistently publishing agreed-upon weekly content
• Regularly capturing our best projects
• Building an organized library of usable photos and videos
• Increasing engagement, video views, website traffic, and customer inquiries
• Developing a recognizable and authentic Meeks Construction presence
• Completing content without constant follow-up or supervision
