Position Overview:
The Retail Associate plays a key role in providing customers with the highest level of service, assisting them with their jewelry and body piercing needs, and maintaining the overall operations of the store. You will work closely with our team to ensure the store is organized, inventory is well-stocked, and customers receive the best experience possible. This role offers opportunities to learn about body piercing, jewelry, and the industry, with the chance for growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner. Provide knowledgeable assistance on body piercings, jewelry options, aftercare products, and more. Help customers select jewelry that suits their individual style.
- Sales and Upselling: Drive sales by promoting jewelry, piercing services, aftercare products, and other store items. Upsell products based on customer needs and preferences, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Store Organization and Inventory Management: Maintain an organized, clean, and visually appealing store. Help with stocking jewelry, products, and supplies, ensuring shelves and displays are tidy and well-stocked.
- Store Maintenance and Safety: Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean, sterile environment.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) and Cash Handling: Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system, handle cash, credit card payments, and provide receipts. Ensure that cash drawers are balanced and accurate at the start and end of each shift.
- Product Knowledge and Education: Stay informed about new products, jewelry trends, and body piercing services. Educate customers about piercing aftercare, jewelry types, and healing processes.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth store operations. Assist with daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and managing customer flow.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally in a jewelry, fashion, or body piercing setting. Piercing knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Customer-Oriented: Strong communication skills and the ability to provide a positive, friendly experience for customers.
- Attention to Detail: An eye for detail and quality when assisting customers and organizing products.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform light cleaning and stocking duties.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with team members and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
