Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$82,400.00 - $123,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20 hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

Responsibilities include:
- Procurement Management: Responsible for managing the procurement process for Medtronic, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services from external suppliers
- Planning and Forecasting: Develop and maintain a comprehensive purchasing plan based on market trends, customer needs, and production requirements
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services
- Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess stock
- Cost Management: Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to improve overall procurement efficiency and reduce costs
- Quality Control: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the products and services meet Medtronic's quality standards and specifications
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as production, logistics, and sales, to ensure timely delivery of products and efficient communication
- Data Analysis: Utilize data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and identify areas for improvement in the procurement process
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities
- Performance Evaluation: Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and maintain high-quality standards
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other members of the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (preference working in SAP or Blue Yonder)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.
- Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.
- Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.
- Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)
- APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
- Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
