As the Director- Operations Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), you will play a critical role in leading and supporting the execution of the changes to commercialized products within our Neuromodulation & Pelvic Health Operations team. The Director-Operations PLM provides leadership to the integrated project team collaborating across the Operating unit.
A Day in the Life
As the Director- Operations PLM, you will effectively coordinate a total portfolio of Released Product Management (RPM) projects and programs, and the Released Product Change (RPC) activity in the post-market space. You will:
- Direct and oversee program managers (team of 10) who lead projects related to operations changes to commercialized products and EU MDR compliance for the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health operating units. This portfolio includes Pain Interventions (Spinal Cord Stimulation, Targeted Drug Delivery, and Interventional), Deep Brain Stimulation, and Pelvic Health.
- Manage the Operations sponsored portfolio of investments in shared Other Product Costs (OPC) to achieve project outcomes while spending on AOP plan
- Manage the Release Product Change (RPC) process: intake, prioritization and resourcing, issue escalation and resolution, output, and metrics
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in their OPC portfolio
- Drive project management excellence in direct reports and the entire PLM organization
- Collaborate with Global Operations & Supply Chain (GO&SC) to secure resources and to align on funding sources for a project
- Collaborate with PLM staff to address issues with product continuity, funding and staffing
- Collaborate with NM/PH Operations staff to continuously improve the department
- Lead the intake, strategy, formulation, and prioritization of projects to address product continuity issues
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across various functions as the key interface with, and advocate for, all groups contributing to the NMPH Manufacturing network and IOU customer end-to-end value stream, throughout product life cycle.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant operations and/or product development experience with 7 years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant operations and/or product development experience with 7 years of managerial experience
Nice to Have:
- Master’s degree in engineering and/or an MBA
- 5 years of manufacturing, operations, and/or product development experience in a regulated medical industry
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Certification
- Experience leading engineering or project management teams
- Previous Medtronic experience
- Understanding of product design, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution processes
- Related broad operations leadership/management on a global scale
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve critical complex and systemic problems in a matrixed fast past work environment
- Demonstrated leadership of senior people and complex projects, with a strong track record of success working within a global and complex matrix organization in a high-performing team
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of Neuromodulation and/or Pelvic Health products
